A Message from
TRR Chairman Faith Bickley:

6/24/10

Where has June gone? Summer is surely here with hot temperatures and lots of summer activities happening. Here in Glen Flora we were pretty much drought-like until two good rains perked up everything and spurred the weeds into astounding growth. Today it is cloudy with a light drizzle which is certainly not the norm for late June.

TRR’s Chamblee’s Rescue was such fun for those of us able to participate. It was astounding to see an empty plot where 77+ roses had been several hours before! Almost all of the rescued roses Mom and I brought home are showing new growth and even some blooms. However my cuttings did not fare as well which is not surprising as this is not the best time to root cuttings. If you are a member, you will be reading more about this rescue in the newsletter (if you are not a member, why not join us?).

We have a great meeting coming up July 10th with the treat of having Peggy Martin speak to us. This is our one meeting each year that is held in the Houston area. We invite all to come join us and experience TRR.

So enjoy the summer and enjoy your gardens.

Faith
