Texas Rose Rustlers
Texas Rose Rustlers

Liz Druitt - September 18, 1957 - March 19, 2019

Long-time Texas Rose Rustler and very special friend, Liz Druitt, was loved and appreciated by the entire rose community.  Liz was an acclaimed rosarian, designer, consultant and experienced Rose Rustler. She authored two wonderful books, Landscaping with Antique Roses (coauthored with Michael Shoup) and The Organic Rose Garden.  Her gardening articles have appeared in Southern Living, Fine Gardening, Flower and Garden, and Horticulture, among other magazines. She worked at the Houston Zoo, The Antique Rose Emporium, and was a long-time member of the Texas Rose Rustlers and the Heritage Rose Foundation. For many years, she was the plant curator at Peaceable Kingdom, an ornamental organic garden and school, which she helped to design and develop. She also hosted PBS's environmentally oriented gardening series The New Garden. When she wasn’t in her garden, she made lovely jewelry and treasured her Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs.
